Rinjani and Kopi Tujak:

An Irreplaceable Legacy of Lombok

Beneath the grandeur of Mount Rinjani, Indonesia, lies a treasure that captures hearts and taste buds alike—Kopi Tujak. This specialty coffee from Sajang, Sembalun, is more than just a drink; it is a manifestation of tradition, nature, and the dedication of Lombok’s people. The name "Tujak," meaning "pound" in Sasak, reflects the traditional process imbued with care and history in every bean.

Kopi Tujak comes in two exceptional varieties: Robusta and Arabica, grown organically through generations. Every handpicked bean is masterpiece, chosen only at the peak of ripeness. These beans are then processed traditionally, resulting in a perfectly balanced acidity, consistent richness, and an aroma that is truly unparalleled.

After the devastating 2018 Lombok earthquake which displaced more than 360.000 people, Sajang village faced immense challenges. Striving to build back better, the community found hope through their coffee heritage. With support from Human Initiative, a renowned humanitarian organization, the "Bumi Tani Lestari" Coffee Producers Cooperative was established. This initiative has empowered the community to improve post-harvest production, elevating coffee quality while honoring their traditional values.

Kopi Tujak is more than just a product; it is a story of rising, resiliency, and dignity. Every sip connects you to the roots of Sajang’s culture and its pristine natural surroundings. By choosing Kopi Tujak, you’re not just indulging in an extraordinary taste but also contributing to foster self-resilience of community. Let’s share the uniqueness of Kopi Tujak with the world! 🌱☕
